Nourish Food Ordering App: A UI/UX Concept Case Study

Project type: Self-initiated mobile app concept
Focus: Meal discovery and food ordering
Status: Interface concept — not a commissioned or launched product

Project overview

Nourish is an original UI/UX concept for a food-ordering app. The idea is to help people browse meals, compare options, and feel clear about what they are choosing.

This project explores the menu discovery experience: a welcoming home screen, popular meal cards, clear prices, and a visible way to review the order.

The design question

How might a food-ordering app make it easier for someone to find a suitable meal without making the menu feel overwhelming?

The interface focuses on helping users scan the important details first: what the meal is, how much it costs, and how long it may take.

Interface direction

The visual style uses warm, food-inspired colors with deep green as the main accent. Large meal illustrations bring attention to the menu, while simple card layouts keep each choice easy to compare.

The home screen includes:

  • A clear welcome message and a direct route to the menu

  • Popular meals presented as separate cards

  • Meal names and prices that are easy to scan

  • A visible bag indicator to keep the next action in view

UX decisions

The main goal was to keep the first steps understandable. Instead of placing too many choices on one screen, the layout gives the featured meals their own space. Consistent card styling helps users compare options, and the prominent bag control makes it easier to continue when they are ready.

These are design decisions in an early concept. They have not been validated through user testing, so a future iteration would test how quickly people can find a meal and understand the order details.

What I would explore next

The next stage could include meal details, dietary preferences, checkout, delivery tracking, and accessibility testing across different screen sizes.

Note

Nourish is a self-initiated concept project created to explore a food-ordering interface. It is not presented as a completed client engagement or a launched app.

Before we work together

A few helpful answers.

How do we start a project?

Send a short brief with your goals, audience, required screens, and timeline. We can agree on the scope and next steps.

Can you redesign an existing website or app?

Yes. Share your current interface and explain the problems you want the redesign to solve.

Are the 50 previews completed client projects?

No. They are labelled concept explorations and visual studies. Published project posts provide separate details about actual work.

Do you provide editable files?

Editable Figma design files and prototype links can be included in the agreed deliverables.

How are price and timeline decided?

They depend on the number of screens, complexity, research requirements, and agreed revisions. We discuss these before starting.
