A self-initiated mobile app concept by Azan Ali. This 30-second reel concept explores how clearer appointment booking can help people find a specialist, compare availability, review key details, and confirm with confidence. It focuses on simple information architecture, plain-language labels, accessible date and time controls, and reassuring feedback. The case study explains the problem, the interaction choices, a 30-second reel storyboard, and practical accessibility checks. Provider and availability details shown in the concept are fictional interface examples, not real clinic data.

The problem to solve
Appointment booking can feel tiring when people must jump between provider profiles, unclear availability, and hidden details. This concept keeps the next decision visible at each step and makes it easier to review the booking before confirming.
The 30-second reel storyboard
- 0–3 sec — Start with the need. Open on a calm “Find a specialist” screen and one clear search action.
- 3–7 sec — Make choice easier. Show provider cards with specialty, location, and the next available slot visible at a glance.
- 7–12 sec — Let people choose a time. Move into a simple date strip and clearly separated time buttons.
- 12–18 sec — Confirm the details. Keep provider, date, time, and visit type together for review.
- 18–24 sec — Show confident feedback. Use a clear success state with the booking summary and what happens next.
- 24–30 sec — Close on the principle. End with: “One clear next step at a time.”
Why this flow feels clearer
- Progressive choice: ask for one decision at a time instead of showing every option at once.
- Visible essentials: show availability and booking details before confirmation.
- Readable controls: use generous tap targets and distinct selected states.
- Reassuring feedback: repeat the key details and explain the next step after confirmation.
Accessibility checks for the prototype
Use readable contrast, visible keyboard focus, labels that name each field, and buttons large enough to tap comfortably. Do not rely on colour alone to show a selected time; pair it with a border, icon, or text state.
Project note
This is an original, self-directed concept study created for portfolio practice. It is not a live clinic service or commissioned client project, and it has no production or performance results to report.
